How to use (recommended flow)

Follow these steps in order for the most reliable results.

  1. Step 1 — Install & pin

    Install the extension, then pin it in your browser toolbar so you can access the popup quickly.

  2. Step 2 — Open Gimkit

    Go to https://www.gimkit.com and start/join a game like normal.

  3. Step 3 — Use the popup

    Click the extension icon, then press Show Answer. The result will appear inside the popup.

  4. Step 4 — If nothing shows

    Refresh the Gimkit tab once, then try again. Some pages need a reload after the extension is installed or updated.

Install behavior: after the first install, the extension opens a new tab to the website (welcome/info page).

FAQ / Troubleshooting

If something doesn’t work, check these first.

The extension popup opens, but the answer is empty.

Refresh the Gimkit tab and try again. Also make sure you are on a gimkit.com page (the extension is designed for Gimkit).

Nothing happens when I click “Show Answer”.

Try reloading the page, then reopening the popup. If it still fails, remove and re-add the extension in your browser, then try again.

Why does a website open after installation?

The extension opens a welcome/info page once after first install. It should not open again on updates.

Does this page (index.html) run any code?

No. This is a static help page with text and images only.

Tip: if you want this page to open automatically too, tell me and I’ll wire it into the install flow (instead of or in addition to the website). Current install URL is handled in background.js.
